IMEX Cosplay Party – July 2019

Transporting cotton balls with “Vaseline-noses”, eating Oreo’s in strange positions without using hands, dressing up like One-Piece characters and singing Chinese songs with an awful western accent, trying to blow over a ray of cups with balloons, spraying colleagues with confetti for basically no reason… What kind of company does these things?! Are we that crazy at IMEX? No – or maybe a little bit – but actually we were just having our THEME CELEBRATION!

These cool celebrations are being held every 3 months if we after reached our Theme’s target. It’s becoming a real IMEX tradition! During a Theme, everyone basically focuses on improving something inside the company. We link this ‘priority focus’ to a fun concept, called a ‘Theme’!

For example, last quarter we tried to hire more employees and called this theme ‘Hunting for X Pirates’, linking it to the famous anime series One Piece. During those 3 months, our office was covered with One Piece and pirate-related images (you might even hear Lily yell “AAARGGHHH MATEY!” from time to time – but she will never admit that it was her). During this theme there were two teams. The ‘Cosplay Team’ reached the highest target, so the company organized a great (read: crazy) cosplay party!

This quarter, our Theme is ‘Need for Speed’! A fun theme for our new focus: making our internal processes quicker and reducing everyone’s the time spent on certain work activities. So…our office is now covered with fancy cars -or basically anything that is FAST. The rewards if we reach the target? An amazing day filled with karting, bowling and other fun activities (like eating good food!). Depending how high the scores are, the rewards get even better and better! …I am definitely already super excited myself!
